The Old Railroad Bridge represents an extraordinary example of the power of many agencies, foundations, businesses, and people giving to achieve a common vision through the years. It stands today as a singular accomplishment that has caught the region’s attention, providing the Shoals area with a unique recreational amenity and tourist attraction. And yet much more needs to be done in order to realize the full impact and benefit of the original vision.

The Old Railroad Bridge Company(ORBC) has a number of projects it envisions completing over the coming years. For instance, the ORBC will be negotiating an avenue to obtain favorable grants to build a connection to Patton Island.  Future enhancements, might include a visitors center, museum, additional parking, outdoor classroom, rest room facilities,  park benches,  beautiful landscaping, shade structures and so much more are also under consideration. To accomplish these goals, we need donors at all levels willing to share in our vision for The Old Railroad Bridge’s future.
